Startup Accelerator

Hi everyone,

We're proud to announce that Who's On My Wifi has been accepted into the Launch Oklahoma Startup Accelerator class of 2014.

For those of you who don't know what a startup accelerator is, it's kind of like bootcamp for startups.

We'll be meeting with mentors, successful entrepreneurs, other growing startups and more of the tech community in an effort to help our startup grow and refine how it operates.

We're very excited to be part of the 2014 class!

500,000 Downloads!

WHO'S ON MY WIFI REACHED 500,000 DOWNLOADS OVER THE WEEKEND!
Thank you to all of the fans, and all of the people who have tried our software. We couldn't have done this without you believing in us, supporting us financially by buying one of our products, or giving us the feedback and letting us know what we're doing well and where we missed the mark.

500,000 downloads is a huge milestone for us, and it reinvigorates us to make the software even better. The number includes the current Free edition that is out there now, and the mobile Android, and iOS apps available now. It's been a long road, but milestones like this just make us want to push harder to make the product better.

The Future

We have some very exciting updates coming out in the next few months.

We plan on having our Mac OSX basic edition done by the Fall.

We are still receiving feedback on our router plugin edition and are working to create a simple hardware router that comes pre-loaded with our software that can be controlled through our Online Service.

We also have some exciting new features up our sleeve that we aren't ready to mention just yet.

Thank You

Thank you again to everyone who has supported us.

And we hope you like what's coming next!

OpenWRT Router Plugin 1.0.1

Version 1.0.1 of Who Is On My Wifi OpenWRT Router Plugin was released this afternoon.

This release fixed bugs related to performance and optimization.

BUG FIXES:
Decrease memory usage on less powerful routers

We detected an increase in memory usage on smaller routers with lower ram.  We changed this to decrease the amount of total memory in use and remove unused components from memory.

Added changes to better handle network glitches and blocking

This newer version does a better job of detecting network issues like dropped network connections and responding to them accordingly.  It also does a better job of communicating with our servers to let it know how many devices it can effectively block and give more information.

OpenWRT Setup Video

The Who's On My Wifi OpenWRT setup video is here!

In watching some early users, we saw that people were having a few problems getting the OpenWRT Router plugin installed on their OpenWRT routers by just using the Setup Wizard that is available in Online.

So, we created a setup and demo video to help get you started.

This is a simple setup wizard style video that shows you how to install Who's On My Wifi on an OpenWRT compatible router.

It also goes through the process of connecting the router plugin to Who's On My Wifi Online so that all of the features like text messages and historical reports are also compatible with the router.

We are very proud of these router plugins and hope that you find them useful.

Enjoy.

SXSW Buffalo Lounge Pitch Contest Winner!

Who's On My Wifi was selected as the Startup Pitch Contest winner at the Oklahoma Buffalo Lounge at South by Southwest this past weekend in Austin!

The Pitch Contest had 10 Oklahoma based startups each showing off their latest creations and were judged on the pitch and viability of the product.

We wanted to say thanks to the Chamber of Commerce and I2E for hosting the event.

We also wanted to say thanks to the judges for selecting us.

It was an awesome experience to meet the other startup founders from across the state and to see and hear about all of the cool things that they're working on.

You can read more about the Buffalo Lounge event at this page:

Thank you Austin!

OpenWRT Router Plugin

WHO'S ON MY WIFI IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE OUR FIRST ROUTER PLUGIN!
We have just released a Who's On My Wifi router plugin available for OpenWRT!

Router options have been in development since early 2013, and they are a huge leap forward for helping people protect their wireless networks.

There is more information available at the OpenWRT page of our website:

http://www.whoisonmywifi.com/router/plugins/openwrt/

We have also created a Setup Wizard in Who's On My Wifi Online to help you install the Who's On My Wifi Plugin onto the router and connect the router to our online service.

And this is just the beginning

Who's On My Wifi is now officially available on the router.  Having our software running directly on the router hardware itself instead of on a Windows desktop or server now opens up so many possibilities for you, our customer, that we are truly excited.

Please stay tuned.

There's a lot more coming soon!

Text Message Alerts now available in Online

We have just released a new version of our Online system that allows for Text Message notification when an Unknown device is detected on someone's local network.

All you need to do to set this up is go to Notifications and either Add or Edit a notification, and change the Notification Type from E-mail to Text, and then type in your Cell Phone number where you want to receive the real time alert.

Text Message alerts are currently only allowed for US phone numbers, but we hope to add support for additional countries soon.

We also added a "Send Test" button, so you can test that you are receiving the alerts correctly.  Just make sure you click the "Update" button, before you try to Send a Test to a new number.

Version 2.0 is no longer available for Sale

Hi everyone,

Who's On My Wifi version 2.0 is no longer available for sale

Version 2.0 marked a major break through for our company with Automatic Updates, multi network support, and reporting all now becoming standard on what people expect from our software.

But version 3.0 has been available for months now, and we've changed our pricing structure.

We no longer charge for our detection software alone, and are only charging for the Online subscription now, while the detection agents are now Free.

We will continue to support Version 2.0 through the end of 2014.

If you have any questions or problems, please let us know at our new support address (support at whoisonmywifi.com)

Thank you to all of our Version 2.0 customers.  Without your continued support, we wouldn't have been able to continue to innovate and improve the product and make it something that people actually want to use.
